IKSSF Fundraising Opportunity - Charitable Gaming
The IMAS, along with the Independent Karate School Scholarship Foundation, are proud to announce our selection, for the third year in a row, as a beneficiary of the NH Charitable Gaming program in conjunction with the River Casino Bar & Grill (53 High Street – Nashua; www.therivercasino.com)
What is charitable gaming?
By NH State Law, games of chance are allowed to be run in the state as long as their operators distribute a minimum percentage of earnings to Nonprofits (like the IKSSF). The River Casino invites 36 charities each year to benefit from the profits of 10-day periods during the year. It is very competitive to get on their list, but once on the list, a charity can benefit tremendously from 10 days of activity.
What can you do?
The best way to ensure a spot on the list year after year is to promote the activities of the River Casino to family, friends, and other network contacts. The more business they see, the better the odds (pardon the pun) that more money gets distributed to charities. It is not uncommon for a charity to earn over $10,000 during a 10-day period. The best thing (hands down) that you can do to help us is to spread the word about this program to your extended networks.
The dates which the IKSSF will stand to benefit from are January 21 – January 30, 2020. We are already planning some formal events for our members to participate in (more communication on that will be sent very soon). This has been a great funding source for the Foundation, which has been supporting educational dreams of our students for well over 2 decades. We hope with your support, it can become even more significant. Spread the word and stay tuned for more details soon!
