Enshudo

The Way of the Circle Hands.

Enshudo is a self-defense style invented by O-Sensei Louis Desmarais in the mid 1980s.  It combines his collected knowledge of Kenpo, Boxing, and Hakko-ryu jujutsu, and builds a curriculum organized into different clusters of techniques.  It’s the perfect add on for a student looking to hone their skills in self-defense.

What is Enshudo?  It is a mindset.  It is a willingness to try new things, to eschew the guarded nature of many arts.  It is looking at the mechanics and themes of how different attacks work and to learn the language of self-defense so that you can speak with your own voice.  The Way of the Circle Hand is about creative practice with classmates and comrades.

Anyone at least 14 years of age, of any rank (or no rank at all) is welcome to learn the art of Enshudo.

Enshudo is typically held every fourth Saturday of each month from 10:15-11:15am.

There are also Enshudo classes from 5:15-5:45pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays, and from 7:30-8:00am on Saturday mornings.
